  • ALTLED High Power Factor T8 Tube Passes LVD

    ALTLED’s HPF T8 tube has passed LVD laser testing, in addition to FCC, RoHS, and CE.
    HPF (High Power Factor) products are not essential to businesses or safety, but it is definitely crucial for energy-saving and environmental concerns. With high power factor, the power company will not have to supply as much electricity to the bulb as compared to a product with lower power factor. The higher the power factor of a product, the more energy-saving the product is.
    Now, having passed the LVD, it ensures that electrical equipment within certain voltage limits both provides a high level of protection for European citizens and enjoys a Single Market in the European Union. Although Low Voltage Directive (LVD) safety testing is perceived as much simpler than EMC or environmental testing, it should not be ignored during CE certification.
    If a product is unsafe, it can pose a potentially very serious risk to health, along with the possibility of fire or explosion should a product be electrically unsafe.
    According to Chris Rouse, Safety Product Manager at TRaC safety laboratory, at least 80% of the hundreds of products per year sent for LVD testing fail first time round. This is a scary figure given that on occasions products are close to release or may even already be on the market!
    With this new certification, ALTLED’s V4 T8 offers more safety and quality assurance. The HPF V4 T8 tubes come in various lengths and IP65 optional. Depending on application requirements, the T8 tubes may be customized accordingly. This new LVD certification adds on even more advantage to the already value-packed LED T8 tube.
